The US House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a stopgap funding bill to keep the federal government funded through December 4, seeking to reduce the risk of a government shutdown ahead of this fall's crucial midterm elections, according to the Associated Press.
The measure cleared the House by a largely party-line vote of 220-205 and now moves to the Senate. The temporary funding bill, known as a continuing resolution, would generally maintain federal agencies at current spending levels until early December, AP reported.
