A senior Revolutionary Guards commander has claimed that US forces have retreated to positions at least 1,000 kilometres from Iran ’s borders.
Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi stated no US warships remain in the Gulf or Strait of Hormuz , claiming they are fully vulnerable to Iranian strikes.
Parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf confirmed Iran will keep the Strait of Hormuz closed until interim agreement conditions are fulfilled.
Maritime traffic through the vital shipping route has almost completely halted following weekend attacks in the vicinity.
Ghalibaf rejected one-sided US demands and insisted that Washington cannot continue to drag out mediator negotiations.
