Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology, Etidal, Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari received in Riyadh on Thursday a delegation from the US Congress, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
The delegation included Utah Representative Chris Stewart (R), Pennsylvania Representative Guy Reschenthaler (R), and Michigan Representative Lisa McClain (R).
The delegation was briefed on Etidal's work strategies as they toured the command and control department. The Congress members were briefed about the monitoring and analysis mechanism, the most prominent techniques used, and the models that are being built and developed within the center.
Stewart said: "The effort here is inspiring and encouraging."
"We are grateful for the work you're doing, and I will certainly support and encourage it. I was thinking during my tour of the center about how to create a commitment to fighting extremism and ideological extremism in an effective way."
McClain said: "My impression is that the center is absolutely amazing. It is trying to unite communities and the whole world to fight extremists proactively. This the first building block for fighting extremism."
Reschenthaler said: "First of all, I'm very impressed not only with the facility, but also with the development and the commitment of the individuals here."
"I think there are a lot of ways of cooperation with the United States and allies and global organizations to make sure that we get information and analyze it to understand extremism."
