The decision to neutralize these threats was made after it was determined that the weapons posed an imminent danger to both merchant vessels and US Navy ships operating in the region. The actions taken by the forces were aimed at safeguarding the freedom of navigation and enhancing the safety and security of international waters for both US Navy and merchant vessels, CENTCOM emphasized.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or damage sustained by any US or coalition ships during the operation, underscoring the effectiveness of the interception and destruction of the hostile assets.
