Uruguay's Luis Suarez scored a last-gasp equaliser against Canada in the Copa America third-place playoff on Saturday, forcing the match into a penalty shootout. The South Americans eventually triumphed 4-3 in the shootout at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium.
Canada had taken a surprising 2-1 lead in the 80th minute through Jonathan David's goal and appeared to be on the verge of a remarkable victory. However, Suarez, who entered the game as a second-half substitute, scored a neat finish from Jose Gimenez's assist in the 92nd minute to level the score at 2-2 and send the match to penalties.
