An intriguing middleweight matchup has been added to an upcoming UFC Fight Night event.
Dangerous striker Uriah Hall is set to meet surging submission specialist Andre Muniz on April 16. Two people with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking with MMA Junkie following an initial report from MMA Fighting.
The event is headlined by a welterweight matchup between Vicente Luque and Belal Muhammad, but does not yet have a confirmed venue or location.
“The Ultimate Fighter 17” finalist Hall (17-10 MMA, 10-8 UFC) will attempt to bounce back into the win column following a decision loss to Sean Strickland in his last outing. Prior to the set back, Hall was on an impressive win streak of four, including victories over former champions Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman.
MMA Junkie’s 2021 Under-the-Radar Fighter of the Year, Muniz (22-4 MMA, 4-0 UFC) will look to keep his undefeated UFC run intact. Entering the UFC following a first-round submission win on Dana White’s Contender Series, Muniz has rattled off four straight wins, three of which were finished early by armbar submissions.
With the addition, the April 16 event includes:
- Vicente Luque vs. Belal Muhammad
- Uriah Hall vs. Andre Muniz
- Brandon Jenkins vs. Drakkar Klose
- Miguel Baeza vs. Dhiego Lima
- Chris Barnett vs. Martin Buday
- Pannie Kianzad vs. Lina Lansberg
