An urgent warning has been issued to anyone who drives a car as freezing weather continues across Liverpool.
Last week, an arctic blast hit the region as temperatures plummeted below freezing with snow and ice expected. Today, the Met Office has warned that freezing fog and patches of ice are again likely to lead to difficult journeys.
But as the cold weather continues, and more ice is expected with temperatures dropping to as low as -9C in some areas, an urgent warning has been issued to drivers. The Highway code states in adverse weather conditions, you must be able to see clearly out of every glass panel.

But one motorist was stopped by traffic police for his windscreen being covered in snow. Shockingly, just a small section of the windscreen was cleared as the driver was said to have not been able to "see the issue".
Sharing the photo on social media, Merseyside's roads policing unit said: "The driver of this Volvo might've been able to put his car into gear but he certainly didn't put his brain into gear after he was stopped with the majority of his windscreen covered in snow. The driver couldn't 'see' the issue with what he'd done and was reported."
It is a common mistake that people leave their homes without fully clearing the ice and snow from the windscreen and windows. Many drivers find themselves in a rush in the mornings before the commute to work, or when they need to get somewhere in a hurry and don't have the time for the chore.
Earlier this month, the ECHO reported that by not clearing the frost or snow, drivers could be dealt a shocking fine of up to £2,500 and three penalty points.
A spokesperson for Comparethemarket, said: "When it’s icy or snowy, drivers need to make sure their windows and mirrors are clear and demisted, their lights are clean, and that their number plates are clearly visible and legible before they set off. It’s also important to remove any snow from the top of the car, as this could fall off into the path of other road users or block the view from the front or back windscreen."
