A Clondalkin councillor is warning parents to watch out as "extremely dangerous" nitroxous oxide cannisters are being left at local amenities such as parks and outside a public pool in recent days.
Abuse of nitrous oxide by young people and teenagers is common across many parts of the city. 'Silver bullets', small steel capsules that contain the gas, are often found in parks where the drug is being abused.
Clondalkin councillor Francis Timmons told Dublin Live that he was "shocked" to see the cannisters left outside parks and a public pool. He said: "These gas canisters are being sniffed around locally a lot lately - they are extremely dangerous and can lead to death just like lighter gas, tipex and glue before them.
