Electrical Safety First urged people to ensure they use the proper precautions when using an electric heater.
The electrical safety charity issued a warning to those opting for an electric heater in an attempt to combat the energy bill crisis as households are hit with a 54% increase in Ofgem’s price cap. Although typically a safe and reliable alternative, they must still be used with proper caution and care.
Lesley Rudd, chief executive of Electrical Safety First, is urging people to be as safe as possible. She said: "We anticipate millions more will turn to portable plug-in heaters in order to reduce their costs by heating single rooms in their home as an alternative to central heating.
