Urgent search launched for teen who vanished from Scots town four days ago

An urgent search has been launched for a teen who vanished from a North Lanarkshire town four days ago. Chelsea Roberts, 14, was last seen at Greenwood Crescent in Coatbridge at around 9pm on Wednesday April 19.

Officers are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare and have asked for the public's help in tracing her. Chelsea is described as being around 5ft 6 inches in height, of slim build with long brown or fair hair.

She was last seen wearing a white hoodie, grey jogging trousers and black Converse trainers. Police believe she may have traveled to Edinburgh.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We are appealing for the public’s assistance as part of our efforts to trace 14-year-old Chelsea Roberts who has been reported missing from Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.

"If anyone has seen Chelsea, or has any information as to her whereabouts, please call Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 3327 of 19 April, 2023."

Meanwhile, another 14-year-old who was reported missing from Arbroath has been traced safe and well. Finn Riach had last been seen at around 4.15pm on Saturday April 22 in the village of Auchmithie.

However, police confirmed he had been traced and thanked everyone who gave information for their help in finding the teen.
