Police have launched an urgent search for a woman who is thought to have given birth in a park. Human placenta was discovered in the Holly Brook Park area of Southampton on Wednesday.
Hampshire Police say they are "extremely concerned" for the welfare of the woman who may have given birth. They said: "We are currently investigating the discovery - based on medical advice - of what we suspect to be a human placenta found in the Holly Brook Park area of Southampton on Wednesday morning.
"We are in the early stages of our enquiries and a scene remains in place, with officers following a number of lines of enquiry in the area."
