A 17-year-old who was missing for a day-and-a-half after setting off on a hike in the Scottish Highlands has been found safe and well.
Isaac Johnson was reported missing around 11pm on Saturday after he failed to return from a hill walk in a remote, mountainous area in the west of Scotland.
His disappearance sparked a major search by police, mountain rescue teams, and the Coastguard.
Police Scotland Chief Inspector Donna Allan said Isaac has set off around lunchtime on Saturday, and was thought to have been walking in the area south of Creag Nan Lochan.
She said officers were growing “increasingly concerned for his welfare”, adding it was an “extremely worrying time” for this family.
But in an update on Monday afternoon, Police Scotland confirmed the teen, who is from Glen Moidart in the Highlands, had been “traced safe and well”.
The force thanked those who shared and responded to its media appeal.
