Urgent recall issued for jewellery sold in Ireland over 'risk of radiation’

A range of jewellery sold in Ireland has been urgently recalled due to a "risk of radiation".

On Wednesday the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission confirmed that a safety issue with several wearable health products had been identified, including necklaces and bracelets. A spokesperson said: “The risk associated with the product is that of radiation, the products have low levels of radiation that may cause the user harm over prolonged use.”

The alert includes six products which were all for sale in Ireland. The products involve bracelets, necklaces and an eye mask. The CCPC has identified one purchase of an affected product by an Irish consumer, but fears there could be more as they were all available to buy online.
