A number of batches of rice sold in SuperValu and Centra have been recalled due to the possible presence of insects.
The affected batches include:
- SuperValu boil in bag long grain rice (500g) Best before 20.12.2023
- SuperValu basmati rice (1kg) Best before 30.11.2023
- SuperValu long grain rice (1kg) Best before 24.01.2023
- SuperValu boil in the bag basmati rice (500g) Best before 22.11.2023
- SuperValu boil in bag wholegrain rice (500g) Best before 01.02.2024
- SuperValu brown rice (1kg) Best before 01.02.2024
- SuperValu Thai jasmine premium long grain rice (1kg) Best before 01.02.2024
- SuperValu brown basmati rice (1kg) Best before 26.11.2023
- Centra boil in the bag long grain rice (500kg) Best before 23.11.2023
- Centra basmati rice (1kg) Best before 05.11.2023
- Centra long grain rice (1kg) Best before 10.12.2023
A spokesperson for the FSAI said: "Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batches."
