Urgent police hunt for two missing 14-year-old girls 'who could be with adults'

An urgent police hunt has been launched for two missing 14-year-old girls who officers fear may be with adults.

Savannah and Ruth were last seen on Wednesday, June 8, but the pair have since vanished from Doncaster, raising fears for their safety.

The two 14-year-olds are believed to have since travelled to Scarborough, and officers warned that they “may be in the company of one or more adults”.

Officers also cautioned the public that they may have changed into more casual clothes, after both were last seen in their school uniforms, Yorkshire Live reports.

The emergency services are now engaged in a desperate hunt to locate the two young girls.

Ruth, also 14 (North Yorkshire Police)
Savannah, 14 (North Yorkshire Police)

Savannah is white and described as of slim build with very long brown hair and a fair complexion.

She was last seen wearing a school uniform and a padded coat with fur on the hood. She would have been carrying a black rucksack with gold zips, according to North Yorkshire Police (NYP).

Ruth is also white and described as 5ft 4in tall, of slim build with dark, shoulder-length hair. She was also last seen wearing a school uniform with dark tights and a padded jacket.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We continue to search in the Scarborough area for missing teenagers, Savannah and Ruth, both aged 14 who went missing from Doncaster on Wednesday (8 June).

“It is believed that they have travelled to Scarborough since then and may be in the company of one or more adults.

“Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for both Savannah and Ruth's welfare and want to speak to anybody who has seen them or knows where they are now."

People who think they may have seen the teenagers have been urged to call 101 with the force encouraging the public to call 999 if they 'have an immediate sighting'. The reference number to quote is 12220100077.
