Police have launched an urgent appeal after a 'distressed woman' was forced into a vehicle by a man in a layby on the A46 in Nottinghamshire. The incident on the northbound carriageway, near Kinoulton and south of the Owthorpe turning, was reported at 3.15pm on Thursday, December 29.
Both the man and the woman were described as white and police said the incident involved a white or silver coloured vehicle. Detectives believe the incident may be linked to two later reports of a woman in distress in Stoke Ferry Lane, in Shelford, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on the same day.
Detective Inspector Simon Harrison appealed to the public to ask anyone with any information contacts the force as soon as possible. He said: “These are clearly very concerning reports and we are urgently investigating what happened.
