Tesco has issued a warning to its customers not to eat certain frozen food products. A batch of the supermarket giant's frozen croissants has been recalled after a potential mix-up.
The retailer has pulled the items from its freezers after certain packets of Tesco's All Butter croissants may contain almond croissants - and the nut will not be declared on the packaging. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a nut allergy.
A Facebook post from Tesco was reported by Liverpool Echo as saying: "We’re recalling one batch code of Tesco frozen All Butter Croissants x6 as they may contain Tesco frozen Almond Croissants. This means that almond won’t be declared on the packaging."

Anyone who has bought the item and has a nut allergy is advised to "please don’t eat it". The croissants can be returned to any Tesco store where a full refund will be given - even without a receipt.
Details of the recall have been included on the Food Standards Agency website. The organisation said: "Tesco is recalling the product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. This notice explains to customers why the product is being recalled and tells them what to do if they have bought the product."
The affected batch details are: Tesco frozen All Butter Croissants x6 (255G). The batch code is LL 111. No other batches are said to be affected. Product recalls and safety notices are made by traders about products that have problems which could affect the safety of the consumer.
