Urgent calls made to protect rare animal and plants from development projects

URGENT calls have been made for an estuary which is home to more than 1000 invertebrate species and rare flowering plants to be protected from future development projects.

The Garnock Estuary, which separates Irvine and Stevenston in Ayrshire, is a mosaic of dunes, grassland, woodlands, scrub and wetlands.
