Urgent appeal issued to find man wanted just a month after prison release

Police have issued an urgent appeal for help finding a wanted man who was released from prison last month. Ellis Rocks, from Wigan, was jailed in May for criminal damage and served half of his four-month sentence.

But the 23-year-old is now wanted by police. Greater Manchester Police says Rocks has links to both the Wigan and Oldham areas.

GMP has today (August 14) released an image of Rocks as part of an appeal to track him down. Anyone who sees Rocks or has information on his whereabouts is urged to get in touch with the force as soon as possible.

In a post on Facebook this afternoon, a spokesperson for GMP Wigan West said: "Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a wanted man from Wigan. Ellis Rocks was released from prison in July 2022 after being jailed in May 2022 for criminal damage.

"He received four months and three days imprisonment. Rocks is known to have links to the Wigan and Oldham areas of Greater Manchester."

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Rocks should contact GMP by calling 0161 856 3622. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
