To stay up, Donegal would have to score a big victory over Roscommon next Sunday while hoping that Monaghan draw with Mayo, who are now assured of a spot in the Division One final, and Armagh lose to Tyrone.
Monaghan must beat Mayo and then they need Tyrone to do them a favour.
Derry confirmed their return to Division One with a 10-point win over Clare though Dublin are not assured of promotion yet as Louth can still deny them with a victory at Croke Park next weekend.
Limerick’s defeat to Kildare confirmed their relegation and as well as Clare’s, ending the Banner’s seven-year stay in Division Two.
In Division Three, Cavan are virtually assured of promotion despite losing to Antrim with Fermanagh and Offaly vying for second spot. Longford and Tipperary relegation was confirmed after they both suffered their fifth defeats from six games on Saturday.
It’s extremely tight in Division Four as Sligo lead the way on 10 points with Wicklow, Laois and Leitrim all on eight each ahead of next Sunday’s final round of games.
In hurling, the League semi-final pairings have been confirmed with Kilkenny to meet Cork after they held off Waterford, while Limerick and Tipperary face off in the other semi-final with both games to take place next weekend.
