South Carolina (1-1) will travel to Athens to face the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (2-0) on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will air on CBS.
Multiple Bulldogs are still dealing with nagging injuries, but there are some positive updates ahead of gametime.
Buy Bulldogs TicketsKirby Smart shared updates on key players like Daijun Edwards, Ladd McConkey and Javon Bullard earlier this week.
Here is our Week 3 injury report as the Dawgs take on the Gamecocks:
RB Daijun Edwards
Injury: Knee (MCL)
Status: Probable
Edwards hasn’t seen game action this season due to a nagging MCL sprain. He did suit up last week and Smart shared a positive update ahead of Saturday.
“Yeah, we expect Daijun to go,” Smart said. “Like I said, he could have gone last week, the week before that. We’re just trying to go from 80 to 90 to 100. We think he’s going to be closer to that. I can’t say what he’s at. But he certainly felt good enough to go Saturday.”
WR Ladd McConkey
Injury: Back
Status: Questionable
McConkey is dealing with a back injury that has bothered him dating to last season. The leading returning wide receiver has yet to take a snap this season.
Smart didn’t share much of an update after Tuesdays practice.
“He hasn’t been available. He’s been injured. He’s trying to come back, and we’re trying to figure out all we can do to speed that process up.”
OT Austin Blaske
Injury: Knee (MCL)
Status: Questionable
Blaske is dealing with an MCL strain he suffered in fall camp.
“Blaske is working his way back, Smart said. “He might be available.”
DB Javon Bullard
Injury: Ankle
Status: Doubtful
Bullard left the game with an ankle injury against Ball State and didn’t return. He was seen in a walking boot on the sidelines.
“Javon is still in (non-contact) right now,” Smart said. “He’s out there at practice, but he wasn’t able to do a lot.”
DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
Injury: Foot
Status: Doubtful
Ingram-Dawkins was expected to be back on the field already after going down with a foot injury after Week 1. He didn’t play against Ball State and was in a walking boot on the sideline.
“Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins has been dealing with a little bit of a navicular foot issue but it’s not a break or anything right now,” Smart previously said. “It’s a stress reaction that we’ve had to hold him out some and keep him out of activity some. But he should be cleared soon.”
WR Jackson Meeks
Injury: Foot
Status: Doubtful
Meeks was in a walking boot until last week. He did suit up versus Ball State but didn’t play. Smart hasn’t updated Meeks’ status since before the UT Martin opener.
“But he’s out of the boot and out of, off the treadmill,” Smart said. “He’s out there on the real grass running.”
TE Lawson Luckie
Injury: Ankle
Status: Out
Luckie suffered an ankle injury during fall camp and is currently working his way back from tight-rope surgery. The timetable for his return is unknown.
RB Branson Robinson
Injury: Knee
Status: Out for season
Robinson will miss the 2023 season due to a torn patella tendon suffered in fall camp.
