For some, it makes sense to focus on the 2024 NFL draft order for the Cincinnati Bengals with just two games left in the regular season.
That’s reasonable given the team’s embarrassing showing during the Week 16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A 34-11 loss that suggested the team wouldn’t be able to make noise in the playoffs even if the their slim chances got them there, it’s hard to blame fans who want to instead focus on the draft.
Per the numbers at Tankathon, the Bengals currently hold the 18th spot in the first round of the upcoming draft after Sunday’s games. But they’re one of eight teams with at least eight wins, so the results of their last two games could dramatically swing them anywhere from 15th to well into the 20s.
Roughly a month ago, the Bengals were seemingly closing in on a top-10 pick when Joe Burrow went down before they rattled off three straight wins. They aren’t going to make it back there, but the next two games will decide much about the future.
