The Panthers will make the No. 1 selection in next month’s NFL draft after reportedly agreeing to trade multiple first-round picks to the Bears on Friday.
Prior to arranged deal on Friday, Chicago was slated to make the first selection in the draft. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Bears will receive the No. 9 pick and the No. 61 pick in this year’s draft, a 2024 first-round pick, a ’25 second-round pick and wide receiver DJ Moore from the Panthers in the trade.
With Friday’s move, Carolina is in prime position to select a franchise quarterback after dealing with a plethora of signal-callers in recent years. Panthers coach Frank Reich will have the opportunity to choose between Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s CJ Stroud, Kentucky’s Will Levis or Florida’s Anthony Richardson.
