A group of travellers who set up caravans in a Nottingham park and ride have now left the site. A commuter had spotted that several caravans had been placed in the Queens Drive park and ride facility on Tuesday morning (March 14).
It is not clear exactly when the travellers arrived on the site. Nottingham City Council, which manages the facility, said the caravans had exited the park and ride before 5pm on March 14, meaning no further action would have to be taken by the authority.
It is not the first time travellers have set up at the Queens Drive site. Around six caravans also pitched up there in February 2020, with the travellers believed to have arrived overnight on that occasion.

The Queens Drive park and ride is situated just off the Dunkirk Island and A52 Clifton Bridge, connecting hundreds of commuters to the city centre and Queen's Medical Centre. The facility contains more than 900 spaces and Nottingham City Council has said the car park is for daily use and that nobody is permitted to park there overnight.
