Not only are there over 400 playable WWE Superstars to choose from here, but there are also new match types and mouse support with the Switch 2's joy-cons. Exciting times indeed. Along with the Standard Edition, there are also more pricey editions for fans to look at as well. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun

Release date: March 18, 2026

We've seen a surprising number of tactical strategy titles find a new home on the Switch 2 since the console's release, and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is looking to continue that trend in March. Described as a "hardcore tactical stealth game" set during the Edo period in Japan, here you take control of a deadly team and go on missions to essentially take down your enemies from the shadows. This is a great game that really makes you use your brain, I'm also a sucker for the historical setting, so I definitely recommend this one if sneaking Shoguns sounds appealing to you.

Nintendo is the home of cute, so the upcoming Switch 2 game, Hela, feels right at home on the system. In this adventure platformer, you'll play an adorable mouse who is friends with a Witch currently struggling. You'll have to explore the world and gather ingredients to help your magical friend out. The game also features up to four player co-op, so it's a wholesome multiplayer title to put on your wish lists.

Content Warning

Release date: TBC 2026

Any fans of Lethal Company or R.E.P.O rejoice because a new online horror co-op game will be coming to the Switch 2 sometime in 2026. In this scary Twilight Zone-esque title you'll play as something a kin to horror influencers who film "happenings" on dangerous lands in order to upload clips to "spooktube" and hit your streaming quote. A horror/content creator game sounds super fun and will make any fans of those '90s ghost hunter shows finally be able to leave out a very specific childhood dream.

Lego Batman: The Legacy of the Dark Knight

Release date: TBC 2026

We love a new Lego game, so we were over the moon to see that we are getting a new DC outing with the iconic DC trilogy, Christopher Nolan's Batman movies getting the block treatment. In this upcoming Switch game, you'll be able to relive all the movies in the trilogy, from Bruce Wayne's first outing to his final hurrah with Bane. There are tons of easter eggs, humour, and for the first time…difficultly modes. Gotham will also be an open-world map, so yeah, we are sold.

Good Boy

Release date: TBC 2026

Imagine Wall-E, but playable on your new Nintendo handheld. Good Boy is a beautiful upcoming Switch 2 game that's been described by publisher Team 17 as a "Petroidvania". In it, you'll be taking control of a space rover with the soul of a dog implanted in it, travelling a lush wilderness and coming across all sorts of strange and wonderful sights. The description alone makes me feel a little teary-eyed for some reason, but I'm already very much on the hype train for Good Boy despite its lack of release date.

eFootball Kick-Off!

Release date: TBC 2026

The Switch 2 is already home to plenty of great sports games, and the new football title, eFootball Kick-Off! Is set to be added to the console's collection sometime this year. Announced during the Nintendo partner showcase in February, the game offers both online and offline modes and will let players establish their own club team in the World Tour mode of the game as well. This looks to be a solid FIFA alternative.

Wandering Sword

Release date: TBC 2026

If you are like me then the idea of a 3D pixel wuxia RPG sounds like a dream. So, yeah I'm pretty excited to live out my martial arts fantasies with Wandering Sword once it comes to the Switch 2 this year. You play as a swordsman who, after suffering an injury, will have to begin mastering martial arts in order to fulfil your destiny. There's turn based combat, lots of skill trees to play with, and a great story as well. The Switch 2 version also includes the Mount Pack: The Supreme Steed and Immortal Trails Across the Blue Sea DLC. What more could you ask for?

Pokemon Winds and Waves

Release date: TBC 2027

Pokemon Gen 10 is officially on the way and it's called Pokemon Winds and Waves. Shown during the recent Pokemon Presents showcase, the next creature collector outing will be taking us to an island/jungle region, that looks a lot like Southeast Asia if you ask me. The trailer didn't give many details away about the titles, but we do know what our starters will be, and it also looks like there will be high-tech island hubs to interact with as well. Stay tuned for more details!

Mega Man: Dual Override

Release date: TBC 2027

Buckle up because in 2027, we are getting a brand new Mega Man game! Mega Man: Dual Override will follow a similar formula to previous entries, from the looks of it so far. That means expect 2D action platforming and facing off against Dr Wily once again. We don't have a set release date just yet, but I'm keeping an eye out for any news on this one.

Borderlands 4

Release date: TBC

Borderlands 4 landed on other platforms back in September 2025, and while the Switch 2 release was originally slated to come some weeks later in October, Gearbox has since delayed the launch. A statement expressed that the team "are committed to ensuring we deliver the best possible experience to our fans, and the game needs additional development and polish time to do that". No new release date has been given as of yet.

Splatoon Raiders

Release date: TBC

Nintendo announced the first-ever Splatoon spin-off with Splatoon Raiders. Set to be a Switch 2 exclusive, the adventure will see you take on the role of a mechanic who sets out to the mysterious Spirhalite islands with the Deep Cut trio. While that's all we know for now, more is set to be revealed about the spin-off in the future.

Rhythm Heaven Groove

Release date: TBC

Another expected upcoming Switch 2 game joining our list is the recently announced Rhythm Heaven Groove. This is another iconic 3DS game that is finally getting a sequel after years, and we can't imagine seeing the new rhythm game not coming to the new console when it launches sometime in 2026. The Rhythm series has been going strong since 2006, and we've been waiting for more fun mini games since 2015. So, Nintendo surely won't deprive us next year by not making this a Switch 2 title, right?

Enter The Gungeon 2

Release date: TBC

This sequel to Dodge Roll's impressive roguelike brings a new 3D art style that has plenty of chaotic physics to sell the frantic energy that was one of our favorite aspects of the original. Bullets, for example, truly go flying. Creative director Dave Crooks says "fan favorite elements will return" but that it's still in development with more news to come.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered

(Image credit: KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD.)

Release date: TBC

This upcoming Switch 2 release gives you Dynasty Warriors 3 and the Xtreme Legends expansion all in one go. The Dynasty Warriors titles are some of the best action games ever made, and in this one, you'll get to play as 40 different officers in the world of the Three Kingdoms. Get ready for some satisfying 1 vs. 1,000 combat as you get to explore a wide array of different battles. The expansion that's included also gives you new stories for seven officers so you truly are getting your money's worth here if you decide to pick this game up.
