Up To 1 Million Power Outages Expected In Florida

As Hurricane Milton approaches the state of Florida, Duke Energy Florida has warned that there could be as many as 1 million power outages in their service area. The company spokesperson, Logan Stewart, stated that this number could potentially increase if electrical structures are severely damaged during the storm.

During a news conference on Wednesday afternoon, Stewart emphasized that once conditions are safe, Duke Energy Florida has 16,000 crews on standby and ready to be deployed to restore power to affected customers. This proactive approach aims to minimize the impact of the anticipated outages and expedite the restoration process.
