Up to 1,600 new homes could be built on Nottingham City Airport as plans proposed

New plans for the demolition of Nottingham City Airport in Tollerton could see a large number of homes to be built on the site.

Vistry Group has proposed a Environmental Impact Assessment scoping request for development on Land at the Tollerton Airfield. The developers are proposing to submit a hybrid planning application to build up to 1,600 homes.

The plans would involve the demolition of the cafe and air traffic control building as well as the removal of the airport runway. If a planning application is put forward to Rushcliffe Borough Council the development could see a new local centre, a primary school, and supporting infrastructure including highways improvements, open space, sports pitches, green and blue infrastructure.
