AGRA: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has withdrawn the ticket to party candidate from Firozabad Sadar seat Babloo Kumar Rathore alias Goldi Rathore and Sirsaganj candidate Raghvendra Singh.
Now, the party has fielded former SP MLA Azeem Bhai’s wife Sazia Hassan from Firozabad Sadar seat and Brahmin Party worker Pankaj Mishra from Sirsaganj seat,
BSP zone coordinator Hemant Pratap Singh said, “Candidates on the Firozabad Sadar and Sirsaganj seats were changed by the party leadership on the basis of the feedback from party workers. We are getting support from all sections of society. BSP will show surprising results in this assembly election.”
On learning about the cancellation of his ticket, Goldi Rathore broke down and later resigned from the primary membership of the BSP along with his supporters. He is likely to contest the UP election as an independent.
Terming the cancellation of the party ticket a “conspiracy”, Rathore said, “Azeem Bhai is hand in glove with BJP. Fielding his wife will divide Muslim votes and help BJP.”
Sazia Hassan will be facing SP’s Saifurrehamn alias Chuttan Bhai, once considered close to Azeem Bhai, who quit the SP on being denied a ticket to contest.
