Electricity consumers in Uttar Pradesh will see their power bills rise by 10% in June after the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) directed distribution companies to levy a fuel surcharge to recover higher power purchase and transmission costs.
The surcharge, known as the Fuel and Power Purchase Adjustment Surcharge (FPPAS), will be applied across all consumer categories in the June billing cycle, according to a notification issued by the utility on Saturday.
