LUCKNOW: In a step to bring in more transparency in the government, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday asked all the ministers and bureaucrats to declare the assets owned by them and their family members.
The CM has set the deadline of three months for the declaration of movable and immovable assets. The details will be uploaded on a portal which will be accessible to the people.
Though the elected representatives and bureaucrats have to declare assets owned by themselves and their family members at regular intervals, the CM's order to emphasise it is being seen as a step towards the government’s ‘zero tolerance for corruption’.
“There is no harm in providing details again. Those who have not provided correct details will have to think twice. If any anomaly is detected later, strict action will be taken,” a senior official said.
The CM has given clear directives to ministers to keep their family members at a distance while discharging official duties in government offices.
No family member will be allowed in official meetings, presentations and routine briefings in offices.
As ministers have already presented their action plan for the next 100 days, six months, one year and five years, the CM has asked them to start execution of the plans.
Yogi made it clear that in the second term, the government will not only have to match the performance of its first stint but will also have to improve to raise the bar.
The ministers who visit other states and countries on tours will have to make a presentation before their colleagues to explain the best practices and better governance models that they come across.
On Mondays and Tuesdays, all the ministers will have to be present in Lucknow to attend important meetings while on Wednesdays and Thursdays, they will oversee the working of their departments. They will have to spend Fridays and Sundays in their constituencies and the districts which have been assigned to them.
