Up close footage shows deer, nicknamed Tank, eating flowers on Wollaton Park bench

Up close footage has shown the moment a deer, nicknamed Tank, ate a bunch of flowers that had been left on a bench in Wollaton Park.

Described as a "well-known" deer, the buck was filmed eating the flowers at the popular park on Tuesday, February 16.

The video shows a number of people stand and watch as the animal munches on the plastic-wrapped item. It finished off the bunch before discarding the plastic on the bench.

Howard Brown, who captured the footage, said he was initially concerned when he saw the event unfold.

"I was worried at first as I thought it was going to eat the plastic," he told Nottinghamshire Live.

"One woman did say 'shall we take it out it's mouth?' but I said 'are you going to do it because I'm not?'"

Mr Brown, who was in the park 'playing around with his camera' at the time, added that the deer was called Tank.

"He is quite well known at the park, he's also known for getting quite close to people."
