LUCKNOW: After clampdown on cheating, the UP Secondary Education Board (UPSEB) is to take the online route for fixing duties of invigilators for the upcoming UP Board class 10 and 12 exams. The move is expected to keep proxy teachers away from examination duties.
For this, a software is being prepared where duties of invigilators will be marked online aiding the flying squad and other officials to view the list (name of subject expert and college allotted for invigilation duty) right on the portal.
Close to 51.9 lakh students have registered for the boards commencing from March 24. While 27.8 lakh have registered for class 10, 24.1 lakh have registered for class 12. The exam will be held at 8,373 centres under CCTV vigil.A centralised control room has been set up at the secondary education directorate to keep vigil on copying. Mishra also said that operation of photocopiers and scanners within a radius of at least 1 km from the examination centres will be strictly prohibited during the examination period.
Any attack on centre superintendent and teachers will be considered as a cognizable offence. In addition, frisking of the girl examinees will be done by women members.
In public interest, any act of either leaking the question paper or answer key of any subject on social media before the completion of exam will be considered as a punishable offence and action will be taken under the UP Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means), 1998, the order further stated.
