PRAYAGRAJ: The UP Board authorities are all set to evaluate around two crore answer sheets of high school and intermediate examinees from April 23 till May 5. Around 1.25 lakh teachers have been engaged for the task of checking copies.
The evaluation of answer sheets would be carried out at a total of 271 centres across the state under the watch of CCTV cameras.
A total of 51,92,689 students had enrolled for the 2022 UP Board examinations, While 47,75,749 students appeared in the exams, 4,16,940 didn’t write the exams.
Interestingly, the UP Board authorities have this year removed the compulsion of teachers having at least two years evaluation experience and assigned around 1.25 lakh teachers to complete the evaluation exercise within the fixed time period.
Moreover, teachers assigned duties for both practical exams and evaluation work have been asked to ensure that they should perform their assigned duties accordingly.
Additional secretary, Regional Secondary Board of Education (Regional office, Prayagraj) Vinay Kumar Gill told TOI, “All necessary preparations have been made for the evaluation exercise at all the centres. The evaluation work would be done under strict surveillance of CCTVs.”
He further added, “This time, the authorities have set a target to conduct an evaluation exercise between April 23 and May 5 and the exercise will be done between 10 am and 4 pm. As many as 75 evaluation centres have been made under the Regional office, Prayagraj in 23 districts of the state.”
The UP Board authorities had conducted the 2022 exams of high school and intermediate between March 24 and April 12. However, due to leakage of Inter English paper in Ballia district on March 30 and subsequent cancellation of English paper in 24 districts, re-exam was conducted in these districts on April13.
As per statistics, as many as 27,81,654 students were enrolled in high school examinations but only 25,25,007 took the exams.
A total of 2,56,647 had skipped the high school exams.
In intermediate exams, a total of 24,11, 035 students were enrolled. While 22,50,742 students appeared, 1,60, 293 skipped the exams.
