Love Island contestants often say once they leave the villa that a lot of things were not shown on camera.
After this year's series ended earlier this month, many Islanders have been saying that there were quite a lot of moments which didn't make the final cut. Movie Night didn't reveal all of the secret fumbles, leaving certain people breathing a sigh of relief. But back in the real world, some of what the Islanders claim happened is very different to the narrative that viewers were shown.
From what really happened between 'best friends' Paige Thorne and Dami Hope to what Gemma Owen and Indiyah Pollock allegedly got up to at Casa Amor, here's what the villa stars have blabbed so far, according to The Mirror.
Paige and Dami
Fans were obsessed with their friendship and tactile displays, with Paige seen jumping into his arms and wrapping her legs around him. In the Snog, Marry or Pie challenge it was Dami who Paige chose to marry, leaving Indiyah distinctly unimpressed. And in the Heart rate challenge it was Paige who sent Dami's pulse soaring.
And now Indiyah - who left as Dami's girlfriend - has let slip that there was actually some signs of a budding romance behind the scenes, claiming it was Dami who put the brakes on it. She told Capital XTRA: "They had a conversation, they literally friend-zoned it, Dami friend-zoned Paige and they are good friends now so it's like, we're both in separate relationships and getting on with our lives do you know what I mean."
Gemma and Billy
Gemma walked off into the sunset with Luca Bish, but not before having an epic barney after he accused her of flirting with Casa boy, Billy Brown. Footage was shown at Movie Night of Gemma and Billy bantering, and according to Billy, Michael Owen's daughter got off lightly.
He claims there was a lot more flirting that wasn't shown, and even alleged that Gemma told him to pull her for a chat. “Yeah I think you didn’t see everything with me and Gemma. All the chats, everything she was saying that made me think, 'I’m gonna start flirting as well.' Because I wouldn't start flirting with someone that wasn't flirting with me, so there was a lot more to it, it's crazy," he told Capital FM.
"She said at the start, 'pull me for a chat if you want,' and I just didn't. Obviously then I got distracted by all the other girls because they're lovely as well. I don't regret it but if I was to go back I'd have pulled her for a chat." As for what would have happened if he'd been in the villa from the start, he added: "[Things] would have definitely been different and he [Luca] knows that."
Fellow Casa lad Jack Keating, 23 - whose dad is Ronan Keating - backed Billy up, telling the Daily Star the pair 'vibed big time'. "There was definitely more flirting going on and some of the lads were like, 'woah' at points," he claimed.
"There were definitely some moments where you were like Billy and Gemma, you never know, you never know."
Deji and Indiyah
There was high drama when Indiyah returned from Casa Amor coupled with Deji Adeniyi while Dami recoupled with Summer Botwe. But while the cameras showed Dami wasting no time getting hot and heavy with the newbies, Indiyah was only seen having 'respectful' chats with Deji.
However, Deji has since claimed that they snogged 'multiple times' and was shocked when he found out it hadn't been shown. "There were conversations that we had where she would come to me and be like, 'oh he said this, this and this,' but she would be sat on my lap kissing me," he told the Reality with Will Njobvu podcast.
"So, then it was like I had nothing to worry about. There was never any inkling that made me go 'OK you're here today but gone tomorrow'."
