The University of Cambridge ought to proceed with its probe into how Professor Jason Arday was recruited and his period teaching at the institution, according to a friend and former colleague.
Prof Arday, who was found dead on Friday, stepped down from his post as professor of sociology of education last week following allegations of plagiarism made against him.
