A University of Bristol student who was found dead in his Bristol city centre accommodation took his own life, a coroner has found. Felix Mills was found dead in his King Street accommodation on January 31.
The 19-year-old's inquest found the medical cause of death to be hanging. The record of inquest states that Mr Mills - who was from Derbyshire - had a history of suicidal thoughts and senior coroner Maria Voisin concluded that he took his own life, but that his intention was unknown.
The student's inquest opened on February 16, 2022, with the full inquest being heard yesterday (June 8) at the Avon Coroner's Court on June 8.

At the time of his death, professor Sarah Purdy, the university's pro vice-chancellor for student experience, said: “It is with great sadness that I can confirm the death of second year Politics and International Studies student Felix Mills. Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends at this time.
“Felix was a member of several student societies and we are reaching out to his friends and class mates to offer support. The death of a student affects the entire University community and I ask that anyone who needs support contacts our wellbeing services who are here to help.”
At the time, Avon and Somerset Police said that Felix's death was not being treated as suspicious. The force said: “On Monday, January 31, at approximately 3.20pm, officers attended an address on King Street, Bristol following a report of the sudden death of a 21-year-old man.
“The circumstances of the death are not believed to be suspicious. Our thoughts are with his family, who have been informed. A report has been prepared for the coroner.”
