Thousands of people on Universal Credit and other benefits could be entitled to a £500 cash payment.
A person will usually qualify if they are expecting their first child or if they’re expecting several children and already have a child, and if they or their partner get certain benefits, the Express reports.
The grant must be claimed within 11 weeks in advance of a baby’s due date or within six months after the baby is born.
