DWP confirms Christmas 2022 payment dates for Universal Credit, PIP, DLA and other benefits

A number of changes to benefit payments over the Christmas period have been announced. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed a number of changes to payment dates for some of its payments over the festive period.

Benefits such as universal credit are generally made on the same day every month, but these are often changed around bank holidays. This year Christmas Day falls on a Sunday with Boxing Day landing on a Monday, meaning the Christmas Day bank holiday has been changed to Tuesday, December 27.

It means any payments from both the DWP and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) due to be paid between December 25 and December 27 will be paid earlier this month.
