United passengers spent 12 hours waiting to fly from Washington to Rome, but a series of mechanical, weather and crew problems changed everything

What was expected to be an easy night flight from Washington to Rome turned out to be a rather exhausting flight after discovering that the plane would not take off. The United Airlines Flight 884 was scheduled to leave Washington Dulles International Airport at 5:35 p.m. on October 2 and arrive in Rome Fiumicino Airport the following day. But the passengers went through several problems ranging from thunderstorms to changes in crew members, which culminated in the cancellation of the flight around 4 a.m.

As per Fox News, however, the passengers were eventually put on another United Airlines flight which was departing from Dulles around 7 pm Saturday.
