United Airlines To Resume Daily Flights Between New York And Tel Aviv

Passengers wait for the resumption of flights at O’Hare International Airport

United Airlines is set to resume daily flight service between Israel and New York, allowing travelers to visit Tel Aviv once again. The service, which was halted in October 2023 due to the ongoing conflict in the region, is scheduled to restart on March 2, 2024.

United Airlines will be the first U.S. carrier to offer flights to Tel Aviv from New York Newark. Initially, the flights will not be direct and will include a stop in Munich. This stopover is intended to ensure that the services are fully prepared for non-stop flights, which are expected to commence on March 6, 2024.

A second flight, also with a layover in Munich, is planned for March 4, 2024. It's important to note that there will be no flights on March 3 and March 5, 2024.

The airline has collaborated with security experts and government authorities in both the United States and Israel to assess the safety of the route. The Air Line Pilots Association and the Association of Flight Attendants have also been involved in establishing safety protocols for the resumed flights.

If the initial services operate smoothly, United Airlines intends to reintroduce another daily flight from Newark to Tel Aviv in May. Furthermore, flights from San Francisco, Washington Dulles, and Chicago O’Hare to Tel Aviv may resume in the fall of 2024.

Travelers can now book flights through the United Airlines website and app. Additionally, flights are available through Lufthansa, United’s partner airline.
