Unions want €4 added to the hourly minimum wage by 2025.
They have called for two increases that would take the rate to €13.30 by next January and then to €15.30 12 months later.
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions said this would afford low paid workers to have a decent standard of living.

It claimed Government plans to introduce a new national living wage to replace the minimum wage by 2026 must happen sooner. Its general secretary Owen Reidy, below, said: “Low-paid workers are hurting disproportionately in this cost of living crisis.
“We welcome the Government is committed to moving to a national living wage but it must happen sooner.”
