'Unidentified internal organs' left in street leaving residents 'shocked'

An investigation has been launched after 'unidentified internal organs' found lying in the middle of a street. The gruesome pile of organs were discovered when an alarmed bypasser noticed them sitting at the end of a road in Cleethorpe.

Local residents were then informed and the police were alerted along with special investigators who came to discern the origin of the body parts, Grimsby Telegraph reports. They shortly confirmed that the organs would have belonged to an animal, reassuring horrified residents who had been concerned about who the pile of organs had came from.

Lloyd Binns explained: "My wife was in the front room and I was in the kitchen when a man waved her outside. She went out to see what he was waving at her for and then called me out to come have a look too.

"I came out to see what must have been between one to two feet of organs on the floor. The weird thing was it looked as though it had been cut professionally with very clear edges all the way around.

"I made out what I think were kidneys, intestines and maybe even a stomach. It was not something I thought I'd see in the middle of the street, If I had to guess I'd say it was a deer."

"It was such a shock when I saw it that I went straight back in and called the police. However, when they got here, they weren't sure themselves and had to call for a specialist to try and work out what it is.

"I thought it was an animal if I'm honest, but I wasn't 100% sure. It certainly wasn't what I expected to see when my wife called me out."

In a statement, Humberside Police said: "On Monday 26 September we were in attendance on Suggits Lane, Cleethorpes at 9.10pm following reports from a member of the public regarding unidentified internal organs in the street. Following a thorough investigation, it was identified as a bag containing animal offal."
