'Unidentified internal organs' found in middle of street as police launch probe

A number of eyebrows were raised in one UK street this week after "unidentified interneal organs" were found strewn across the road.

The ditched organs were left at the end of Suggitts Lane in Cleethorpes, North Lincs, and was spotted by a concerned passerby.

Police then swarmed the street and special investigators were brought in to identify the origin of the body parts.

At the time of the discovery, residents were shocked and worried about what the pile of body parts may have been, GrimsbyLive reports.

But, as it turns out, they actually belonged to an animal.

"My wife was in the front room and I was in the kitchen when a man waved her outside," said local resident Lloyd Binns.

"She went out to see what he was waving at her for and then called me out to come have a look too.

"I came out to see what must have been between one to two feet of organs on the floor.

"The weird thing was it looked as though it had been cut professionally with very clear edges all the way around.

"I made out what I think were kidneys, intestines and maybe even a stomach.

"It was not something I thought I'd see in the middle of the street, If I had to guess I'd say it was a deer."

"It was such a shock when I saw it that I went straight back in and called the police," he added.

"However, when they got here, they weren't sure themselves and had to call for a specialist to try and work out what it is.

"I thought it was an animal if I'm honest, but I wasn't 100% sure. It certainly wasn't what I expected to see when my wife called me out."

A spokesperson from Humberside Police said: "On Monday, September 26, we were in attendance on Suggits Lane, Cleethorpes at 9.10pm following reports from a member of the public regarding unidentified internal organs in the street.

"Following a thorough investigation, it was identified as a bag containing animal offal."
