Uni reaches $7.5m settlement with students over engineering accreditation claims

The University of Newcastle has settled a class action lawsuit brought by more than 160 former students who had alleged they were "deceived and misled" into studying a degree they said was not accredited.

Details of the agreement, approved in the NSW Supreme Court this week, are confidential and the orders do not disclose the total settlement amount.
