Maxine Allison, Jobseekers' employer and partnership manager for North Lanarkshire, told Lanarkshire Live : "The new year has focused our attention on recruiting for the key industries where the workforce has been depleted by the pandemic.
"Working in partnership with local employers in the NHS, and with care home providers for older and disabled clients, has given us the push to target their needs by tailoring our recruitment and support practices - whether that’s though the Kickstart scheme or via the jobcentre.
"We are currently supporting the security sector by procuring a specialised security training course, offering participants a CCTV qualification as well as their SIA licence and badge. Upon completion of the course, all participants will be given a guaranteed job interview.”
Responding to the Scottish employment rate sitting at 2.671 million - up 30,000 on the quarter and a 21,000 rise on the year, Scottish Secretary Alister Jack said: “These figures show the UK Government's Plan for Jobs is working for Scotland, with payrolled employees increasing at a greater monthly percentage than anywhere else in the UK and remaining above pre-pandemic levels.
“Continuing to tackle the pandemic, driving our recovery and getting even more people back into work continue to be our top priorities.
"Our job support schemes including Kickstart and targeted support through our jobcentre network are helping people up and down the country find jobs and progress in work."
