Underworld at the O2 Academy Brixton review: fast and filthy euphoria from the dancefloor veterans

Thirty years ago, Underworld released Born Slippy .NUXX. It was originally a B-side – but fast forward a couple of decades, and it’s this that has become their gift to rave-heads everywhere.

Fitting, then, that to kick off their three-night run of sold-out Brixton Academy shows, the band should close out with it. As they did, the crowd raised their arms as one, as rainbow-coloured strobe lights flashed their hearts out. On a rainy Thursday, it felt almost transcendent.
