The ocean means something different to everyone -- a place of peace, adventure, mystery and life beyond what the eye can usually see. Discover what the ocean means to you during "Pay Back To The Ocean", which is running at the Curved Wall, 4th floor of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, until June 14.
This is an underwater photography exhibition by Pari (Panitbhand Paribatra Na Ayudhya), a 14-year-old underwater photographer whose deep connection with the sea has inspired him to use photography as a bridge between people and the marine world.
On display is a collection of underwater images capturing the beauty and diversity of ocean life -- from tiny creatures hidden within coral reefs to majestic whales moving peacefully through the deep sea.
Through Pari's lens, viewers are invited to see sharks from a different perspective -- not as frightening predators, but as graceful and essential creatures that help maintain the balance of marine ecosystems.
Pari's work has received international recognition and has been exhibited globally, including at the UN Ocean Conference in France, alongside Shark Trust in the United Kingdom and through photography and conservation platforms across Australia, Spain, Italy, Poland, Germany, the US, Romania and Thailand.
More than a photography exhibition, it offers viewers an opportunity to experience the sea through the eyes of a young photographer who believes that feeling is the first step towards understanding and protecting nature.
The exhibition also marks the launch of the Pari Ocean Fund under the Chumbhot-Pantip Foundation, established to support marine conservation initiatives, educational opportunities and long-term programmes that strengthen the relationship between people and the ocean.
