London is spoilt when it comes to museums. The capital boasts a stellar collection of world-famous and culturally significant displays and objects in institutions like the British Museum and the National Gallery. And that’s without mentioning that most are completely free. Yet for four years, no dedicated, comprehensive museum has focused solely on London.
This November, London Museum (a minor modification of its previous title, Museum of London) will reopen in a brand-new location in the centre of the city. In time for its 50th anniversary, London Museum has given its seven-million-object collection a new home in two former market buildings after 10 years of renovations and £437m spent.
