A popular Bristol nightclub has announced it will provide a donation to Underfall Yard following the devastating fire that ripped through and destroyed the working boatyard on Saturday (May 6).
Representatives for Thekla, who have stated they will donate £5,000 to the Spike Island cultural institution following the ruinous blaze, which was visible from all over the city.
Nobody was announced as having been hurt in the fire, but Avon and Somerset Police announced just yesterday that a 45-year-old man had been arrested on May 7 following their investigation, which they had deemed "suspicious".

A spokesperson for Thekla said: "We were devastated to hear about the fire at Underfall Yard over the weekend. The Trust do amazing community and volunteering work and the buildings there are an iconic part of the harbour.
"As a fellow longstanding landmark of the Bristol harbour, we are donating £5,000 to the Underfall Yard Trust to aid their restoration. If you are privileged to be in a position to help support them and their projects, please join us by donating – every penny will help."
The , which was set up 25 years ago as part of a motion to redevelop the city's now iconic harbourside, stated that they had been left "devastated" by the fire, but vowed that they would return the area back to its former glory.
