Dramatic footage shows the moment an unconscious man is dragged from a crashed car on the Las Vegas strip seconds before it bursts into flames.
In the video you can see a bystander and police officer frantically work to get the unconscious driver out of the car as it quickly fills with smoke.
The car was stopped across the reservation dividing the lanes on Las Vegas Boulevard. Smoke was pouring out of the car bonnet.
The two eventually free the man and begin to drag him away just as fire consumes where the driver has just been sitting.
An officer later comes back with a fire extinguisher and starts tackling the blaze.
The fire broke out following the crash shortly after 4.30pm on Friday January 27.
Police confirmed the man was rushed to hospital. The officer was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
In another video taken by a passerby, a crowd can be seen gathering and trying to break the window before the police officer arrives.
Once they get through the window the officer sends the others away and just the two remain trying to save the man.
A statement posted to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Facebook page read: "On Friday afternoon around 4:37 pm, our LVMPD Convention Center Area Command officer and a bystander pulled a driver from a burning car near Las Vegas Boulevard and Siegfried and Roy Drive.
"As you can see, both worked with only seconds to spare before the vehicle went up in flames.
"The driver of the crashed vehicle was taken to the hospital.
"Our officer was also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
"We are so thankful for the quick actions of our officer and the bystander for saving a life!
"This incident is under investigation."
In a different incident a car burst into flames after getting shredded by anti-vehicle barriers while trying to ram its way onto a military base in California.
A video, shot by a motorist passing the scene, shows a car wrecked on anti-vehicle protection outside Camp Pendleton, a United States Marine Corps base in California, US.
A spokesperson for the base later confirmed a car had tried to "gain unauthorised access to the installation" but was disabled on the anti-vehicle barriers.
The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Saturday January 28.
The gate was temporarily out of action.
It hasn't yet been revealed who was driving the car or why they were trying to get onto the base. Camp Pendleton has not yet released any more information.
According to the update from the camp: "The MCB Camp Pendleton Provost Marshall Office deployed the final denial barriers and disabled the vehicle."
The footage shows the front of the car with significant damage to it with wreckage strewn around the crash site.
